Buyer's guide

The best membership platform for coaches with weekly calls

You run a paid membership. There's a call every week, the recordings pile up, and members keep asking what you've already answered. Here's how the main platforms handle that, and which one fits which program.

What happens to your weekly Zoom call

PlatformAfter the call
SkoolNo Zoom import. Skool's own calls are recorded by hand, kept for 14 days, and uploaded to the classroom by hand.
CircleNo built-in import. Teams use Zapier to post each recording as a link or embed.
KajabiNo Zoom import. Recordings are downloaded and uploaded by hand, and need captions before its assistant can read them.
Mighty NetworksZoom schedules events. Replays are added to lessons by hand.
BoldNew Zoom recordings arrive on their own, chat included, transcribed with the speakers named, and members can ask them right away.

What matters for a coaching membership

  1. Where your calls go after the call.

A year of weekly calls is about 50 hours. Do recordings arrive on their own, and can anyone find anything in them later?

  2. Whether members get answers between calls.

Members quit between calls, not on them. If the answer is on a recording, can a member get it at 11pm, and check where it came from?

  3. Whether it's yours.

Your name, your domain, your own apps. Or a page inside someone else's product.

  4. What it costs at your size.

Monthly price, transaction fees, and what happens to the bill as the membership grows.

The options

SkoolBest for starting a community fast, on a small budget.

Where it's strong
A feed people actually post in, a leaderboard that keeps them coming back, a classroom and live calls, with unlimited members. Hard to beat if you're building a community from scratch.
Watch out for
Call recordings are started by hand, can be downloaded for 14 days and get into the classroom by manual upload. After a year of weekly calls, nobody can search them by what was said, and we found no Skool feature that answers members from them.
Price
$9 a month plus a 10% transaction fee, or $99 a month plus 2.9%.
Skool vs Bold

CircleBest for a polished community hub with spaces and events.

Where it's strong
Organized spaces, events, live streams, courses and your own branding, with unlimited members. Its AI agents can be trained on your spaces, lessons, files and video transcripts.
Watch out for
AI agents come with the Scale plan ($419) and up, and a branded app with Plus. Check whether the AI answers link to the minute in a recording and cite the coach rather than the member who asked; run one of your own calls through it before you decide.
Price
$89, $199 or $419 a month, billed annually, plus a 2% or 1% transaction fee.
Circle vs Bold

KajabiBest if the membership is mostly a way to sell courses.

Where it's strong
Sales pages, email, funnels and checkout in one place. If the job is to launch and sell a course, it does it well. Its Teaching Assistant answers questions from your course lessons, with a timestamped clip.
Watch out for
Weekly calls end up as files to download, upload, title and post. The Teaching Assistant is an add-on ($79 a month per assistant, 1,000 messages a month), and a video needs captions, paid in AI credits, before it can answer from it. Test it on a messy group call with several people talking.
Price
$143, $199 or $399 a month, billed annually ($179 to $499 month to month). No transaction fee.
Kajabi vs Bold

Mighty NetworksBest when members connecting with each other is the point.

Where it's strong
Member-to-member connection and community-led courses: on-demand, cohort and live courses with quizzes, badges and certificates on every plan, and matching that introduces members to each other.
Watch out for
Its AI helps you run the community and summarizes search; we found nothing that answers members from your courses or calls. Video storage is capped by plan (200GB on Launch), and a branded app is on Mighty Pro only.
Price
$79, $179 or $354 a month, plus a 2%, 1% or 0.5% transaction fee.

BoldBest when your weekly calls are the product.

Where it's strong
Your own platform for everything you've taught: courses, calls, office hours, podcast and YouTube, under your name and in your own apps. New Zoom calls come in on their own, and members ask and get your answer, linked to the minute you said it and written for them.
Watch out for
No sales pages, funnels or checkout (members can pay through Outseta, which we set up). Every program starts with a call, there's no self-serve signup, and it's priced for programs with 50+ hours recorded.
Price
From $499 a month, unlimited members.

Questions

Do I need a separate platform for my calls?

Not if your calls are occasional. If you run one or more calls a week and members ask the same questions over and over, the calls become your biggest library, and that's where a platform that answers from them pays off.

Do any of these charge per member?

None of them do. Skool, Circle and Mighty Networks take a percentage of each transaction on top of the monthly price; Kajabi and Bold don't.

Can I move my existing call recordings?

Yes. On Bold we bring in your existing recordings for you, from wherever they live now, and new Zoom calls arrive on their own after that.
